Armando Jimenez has been part of the Momentum Baseball family since May 2021, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a passion for coaching. "Coach Mando" began his journey in Colton, California, where he started coaching softball. With over 15 years of hands-on experience, he has worked with a variety of recreational leagues and travel ball organizations. At Momentum Baseball, he’s coached fall ball and most recently led the 10U Momentum Softball team to an impressive 2nd place finish in the Minnesota State Fall League.
Before fully diving into coaching, Mando built a nearly 30-year career in the grocery industry with Stater Bros. Markets. In 2017, he became an Epstein Certified Hitting Instructor and has since dedicated himself to teaching hitting for both baseball and softball. Along the way, he’s earned certifications in Driveline, On Base U, Rapsodo, and Blast Motion, constantly honing his skills to better serve his athletes.
Now based in the Midwest, Mando works with the Minnesota Twins as a Baseball and Softball Clinician, traveling across the Dakotas, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin to host free clinics for kids, parents, and coaches. He’s also an active member of the NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) and ABCA (American Baseball Coaches Association), staying up-to-date by attending clinics and presentations throughout the year.
At home in Eau Claire, Mando and his wife Sonia are proud parents to Marissa (20) and Isabella (9). Their son Jesse (23) serves in the U.S. Air Force in New Mexico. Mando is deeply involved in his community, volunteering at Isabella’s school and even coaching her soccer team. One of his favorite initiatives is the annual Toys for Tots toy drive he’s led for four years, collecting over 300 toys for kids in the Chippewa Valley.
Coach Mando is available year-round for private instruction at our facility. He is excited to meet your athlete and become even more connected with the wonderful families in the community!
