Mark Faanes is Co-Owner and one of the original founding Members of Momentum Baseball Academy. He has been a key part of the Eau Claire American Legion Baseball program since 1986 and 2021 will represent his 21st as the Field Manager for the 19U team. Mark’s 19U teams have logged well over 500 wins, made 15 Wisconsin State Tournament appearances, won a state championship in 2017, finished runner-up on three other occasions and have qualified for the American Legion national tournament twice. He is being inducted into the Wisconsin American Legion Baseball Hall-of-Fame in 2021.
Mark is an Eau Claire native and grew up playing in the Eau Claire Parks & Recreation, Little League, Babe Ruth and American Legion Baseball programs. Mark is a graduate of Eau Claire North High School where he was a 3-sport athlete. He played first base and the outfield for North’s 1974 Big Rivers Conference Championship team and its 1975 WIAA State Tournament team.
Mark and his wife Donna reside in Eau Claire and have three grown sons. In the process of raising his own sons in the sport, Mark has coached at all levels of youth baseball.
